“Club Members with an interest in motorcycles, who enjoy recreational rides with a group of friends.”
Recent Events and PhotosAustralia Day Weekend Tour – 26 January 2007To ensure TMC got back in the saddle early in 07, the club coordinated a tour of some of Queensland’s best hinterland roads and gastronomic delights. Setting out from the club on a clear Australia Day morning, the group took aim at Mt Tamborine in search of cooler temperatures. Having escaped the city, we covered some great cruising kilometres on route to our lunch destination at the Canungra Valley Vineyards. The mouth watering scent of eye-fillet and Cab Sauv wafting across the vineyard lawns lured us off our bikes for lunch. To celebrate the day further, the rider’s families joined us in our private dining room for a long relaxing lunch in preparation for the breathtaking roads that awaited us in the afternoon ride ahead. Leaving Canungra, we took the opportunity to check-in to our accommodation on Mt Tamborine, reducing the burden of the luggage we would have to carry on the tantalizing twists and turns of the Nerang Hinterland and Hinze Dam roads. Snaking the group of bikes along the Beechmont countryside was spectacular with a summer storm looming just behind. Needless to say our decent and return to the hotel was swift and thoroughly enjoyable. After soaking our bones exhausted from the sensory experiences of the day the evening was spent enjoying more great food, wine, company and conversation late into the night. Given the amount of stress we inflicted upon ourselves the previous day and evening, the call was made to retreat to Sanctuary Cove for a large breakfast with endless coffees. Reflecting upon the highlights from the magical day that was Australia Day 2007, the group fuelled by coffee and great grub then ambled back to Brisbane after a relaxing ride through the Gold Coast. A successful and safe trip was had by all. Saturday 17 March 2007Given that the TMC president was still busy constructing his new motorcycle, a decision was made to arrange a socially focused short ride within Brisbane… one short enough so he could attend the ride in a… Volvo !? While the mileage most motorcycles get on a day trip is excellent, I'm confident that the group got more mileage out of the Volvo attending. Suffice to say I don't think it will be invited to any future events. With most riders utterly embarrassed by the concept, it didn't take long for the Sven (the Volvo) to be left behind on route to our breakfast destination at the Raby Bay Marina. Again another weekend of perfect Queensland weather the late breakfast rolled on and closed up closer to lunch. Given our proximity to the bay we shifted our morning camp to the Cleveland lighthouse with views to Straddie. A table with our name on it was discovered within the recently renovated lighthouse, where the group took time to relax before the weekend family duties began. Starting a weekend with good company, motorcycles, bay views and excellent food is a signature of TMC events. Saturday 12 May 2007This year Tattersall’s Motorcycle Club donated approximately 500 books to the University of Queensland’s Alumni book sale. Proceeds from the book sale are allocated to high-performing students as a scholarship. Tatt’s Motorcycle Club will be delivering the books to the Alumni at UQ. The event commenced with TMC members and guests lining Tattersall’s Arcade with their motorcycles, followed by Breakfast in the Healy Room. The ride took advantage of the warm winter day with a ride through the Gold Coast to Burleigh Heads. Photo Gallery
